The Life of a Darden First Year

It's Tuesday, December 4th and our 2Q exams are only a week away. I came from a non traditional background (insurance) and I was definitely concerned about the academic rigors of getting an MBA, especially at Darden. We've taken Finance, Econ, Accounting, Decision Anaylsis, etc and I've managed to survive - primarily because of the benevolent brain trust that I study with everyday. Darden has really opened my eyes to effects of globalization. I study accounting with a Tiawanese CPA; I get help in Operations from a Brazilian factory manager, and I have lunch once a week with a small business owner from Argentina. Darden has been challenging indeed, but the quality of academic support from both the facutly and students has made this journey extremely rewarding to date.....
